Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above,
Don't fence me in.
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love,
Don't fence me in.
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please,
Don't fence me in
Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies
On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder
'Till I see the mountains rise.
Ba boo ba ba boo.(Andrew's sisters)
I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon 'till I lose my senses
And I can't look at hobbles and I can't stand fences
Don't fence me in.
No.
Poppa, don't you fence me in

Hi everyone. I just love this old song by Bing Crosby and we should sing it every night around the campfire as we travel this country of ours. All you guys in caravans or tents, who appreciate being free and  away from the pressures of daily life....LET'S HEAR IT LOUD AND CLEAR and make it our nomads THEME SONG.
I would love to hear from you. Travel well and safe, Shanti

Pineapple and coconut whizz

PINEAPPLE WHIZZ: By Shanti.
¼ pineapple, skinned and diced.
1/3 can of coconut cream
900 ml. coconut water
¼ level teaspoon of green stevia. (to taste)
(Green stevia: Natural stevia leaf dried and ground to powder, (no additives) is a sweetener, 300 X sweeter than sugar and has an interesting flavour, a little like liquorice.)
Xylitol, made from the birch tree, may also be used. This is another natural sweetener and has no side effects like sugar. Tastes like sugar.
All the ingredients are readily available from your supermarket.
Method: Put all ingredients in a blender and whizz together. Makes one litre. You can store this drink in the fridge for a few days, especially if you use a whole pineapple, which would make 4 litres.
This mixture is a very healthy drink, which may even be diluted a little more with water or more coconut water, depending on your taste.
Altogether, the pineapple and coconut combination, is a really good winter drink, due to its immune system support.
Pineapples contain a high amount of bromelain, a digestive enzyme which breaks down proteins (meats etc). They are great for supplementing gut health. They are hydrating the body and supplying you with magnesium to help you sleep. Blood pressure may be normalised by taking pineapples, they help in muscle and nerve function, supplying you with potassium for blood pressure, they help in the kidney function, supporting the immune system (high= vit C).
Coconuts are high in iron, potassium, vit C (and no cholesterol), copper, selenium (anti-oxidant), anti-bacterial, manganese.          Coconut flesh is high in carbohydrates.
All in all, this above combination, is a great supplement, especially during winter.
For those people who need more advice on supplementing their immune system, I suggest you increase your garlic (*) intake a lot, also by using turmeric, chili, ginger, lemon grass and brazil nuts (for selenium.)
(*) Garlic, to be really valuable, should hardly be cooked and therefore added to your soups, stews, stir-fries etc. at the last few minutes of cooking only. Most people start cooking with the garlic in the pan first, even chefs do, but that destroys the allicin, the valuable ingredient to combat a cold, flu and other infectious diseases.
PS. Pineapples are the only member of the bromeliad family, which produces an edible fruit.
